A Record-Breaking Golden Retriever Wave Hits Argentina
A massive gathering of golden retrievers turned Buenos Aires into a sea of wagging tails as more than 2,300 dogs and their owners filled Palermo woods in a record-breaking event known as the “Golden Wave.”
Organized by Argentine influencer Fausto Duperre, who rallied thousands online, the gathering aimed to surpass the previous world record of 1,685 goldens—and early counts suggest they did just that with an astonishing 2,397 dogs.
Ten officials were on-site to verify attendance as owners followed safety rules, bringing leashes, water, and supplies to keep the meet-up smooth.
The event also encouraged donations of pet food, adding a charitable twist to the celebration.
With nonstop barking, photos, and cheerful crowds, the Golden Wave delivered one of the most striking and heartwarming scenes of the holiday season.
