Private Jet Prices Surge as Dubai Flights Halt
Private jet prices have soared after Iranian strikes damaged Dubai airport and triggered widespread flight suspensions, prompting a rush among wealthy travelers to secure alternative exits from the Gulf.
As commercial departures slowed and uncertainty grew over when operations would normalize, demand for private charters surged.
According to JetVip, a Muscat-based brokerage, a flight from Muscat to Istanbul on a small jet now costs about $92,000 — roughly three times the usual rate. Seats on private charters to Moscow are selling for about $22,000 per person.
Other routes have climbed even higher. Vimana Private Jets told Semafor that flights from Riyadh to Europe have reached as much as $350,000 amid limited aircraft availability and mounting insurance constraints in the region.
Charter operators say positioning aircraft in the Middle East has become increasingly difficult, tightening supply just as demand spikes. Insurance requirements and owner restrictions have further reduced available fleets.
While high-net-worth individuals secured costly exits, many commercial passengers remained stranded in hotels or confined to cruise ships offshore, waiting for limited repatriation flights.
