Pakistan Pushes Iran Talks as Israel Intensifies Strikes
Diplomatic efforts are underway as the war between the United States, Iran, and Israel enters its second month, with tensions continuing to escalate across the region.
Pakistan says Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is working to create a “conducive environment” for peace talks between Washington and Tehran. Sharif held a call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to discuss ongoing hostilities and diplomatic outreach to the U.S. and Gulf nations.
Iranian officials signaled cautious openness to talks but stressed that trust remains a major obstacle, accusing Israel of continued strikes on infrastructure and key targets.
Meanwhile, Israeli operations are intensifying, with continued strikes across Iranian-linked sites as the conflict shows no signs of slowing.
President Donald Trump has said negotiations are ongoing, but a deadline is approaching for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, adding pressure to an already volatile situation.
At the same time, additional U.S. troops are deploying to the region, underscoring the dual-track approach of military pressure and diplomatic efforts to bring the conflict under control.
