What Nvidia’s New U.S. Supercomputers Will Power Next

Nvidia announced plans to build seven advanced AI supercomputers for the U.S. Department of Energy, reinforcing its central role in America’s high-tech infrastructure.

Supercomputers are ultra-powerful systems capable of performing trillions of calculations per second, used for everything from nuclear research and climate modeling to national defense simulations.

The largest of the new systems will be built in partnership with Oracle and equipped with 100,000 of Nvidia’s Blackwell AI chips, designed to handle the most complex scientific and defense workloads ever created.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the company has over $500 billion in AI chip bookings worldwide, underscoring its dominance in the global AI race.

Beyond defense and energy, Nvidia is expanding into telecommunications, investing $1 billion in Nokia to develop more efficient 6G networks powered by AI.
