However, War Secretary Pete Hegseth intervened on Tuesday, announcing via social media that the pilots would face no further investigation or punishment, calling them “patriots.” President Donald Trump also weighed in, noting that while the maneuver was unconventional, the pilots likely just wanted to show support for Kid Rock, a vocal supporter of the administration who recently performed at the Republican National Convention.
