Military Helicopters Buzz Kid Rock’s Backyard

The U.S. Army has officially lifted the suspension of two helicopter pilots who gained national attention for flying Apache attack helicopters near the Tennessee estate of musician Kid Rock. Over the weekend, the rock star posted videos of the gunships hovering near his mountaintop swimming pool while he saluted them, sparking an initial military investigation into potential violations of FAA regulations and safety protocols. However, War Secretary Pete Hegseth intervened on Tuesday, announcing via social media that the pilots would face no further investigation or punishment, calling them “patriots.” President Donald Trump also weighed in, noting that while the maneuver was unconventional, the pilots likely just wanted to show support for Kid Rock, a vocal supporter of the administration who recently performed at the Republican National Convention.
