How Will Iran Fight Back?

As the United States and its allies continue military strikes against Iran, Tehran has already launched retaliatory attacks on Gulf Arab states, targeting oil infrastructure and key strategic sites. More than one-fifth of the world’s oil supply moves through the Strait of Hormuz, making the conflict’s energy impacts potentially significant if further escalation disrupts shipping.

Analysts say Iran’s options for fighting back include missile and drone strikes on regional targets and efforts to pressure global economies through energy chokepoints. Iran has also signaled it may expand its response, including directing attacks at U.S. and allied military bases.
