Hegseth Announces “Operation EPIC FURY” Following U.S. Strike

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the United States launched what he described as “the deadliest, most complex, and most precise aerial operation in history.”

In a statement posted on X, Hegseth said the operation, named “Operation EPIC FURY,” was carried out overnight by order of President Donald Trump.

He stated that the Iranian regime had been given an opportunity to reach an agreement but refused and is now “facing the consequences,” adding that Iran has attacked Americans for nearly fifty years.

Hegseth warned that the United States will not tolerate missiles aimed at the American people, saying those weapons — along with Iran’s missile production facilities — would be destroyed. He further declared that Iran’s navy would be destroyed and insisted that Iran “will never possess a nuclear weapon.”

“The United States did not start this conflict, but we will end it,” Hegseth wrote. “If you kill or threaten Americans anywhere in the world, we will hunt you down and kill you.”

The statement underscores a sharp escalation in U.S. military posture and rhetoric amid rising regional tensions.
