Gen Z’s Fastest Path to Six Figures? Work for a Billionaire

A new employment trend is reshaping the U.S. labor landscape as many Gen Z workers move away from traditional corporate paths and into private staffing roles serving ultra-wealthy families.

According to reporting by Business Insider, roles such as nannies, executive assistants, private chefs, and household managers are increasingly attracting young, college-educated workers seeking higher pay, stability, and professional mobility.

The shift is fueled by expanding global wealth: the number of billionaires has surged from 322 in 2000 to more than 3,000 today, creating a rising demand for staff to operate multiple homes, yachts, jets, and estates.

Agencies report bidding wars for top candidates, with salaries often ranging from $150,000 to $250,000, alongside benefits such as housing, chauffeur service, private-chef meals, wardrobe allowances, and extensive global travel.

Recruiters say the industry’s growth also reflects Gen Z’s dissatisfaction with corporate burnout, low starting salaries, and limited advancement. However, the work is demanding, with long hours, high expectations, and strict NDAs.
