Foreign Tourists Hit with Major Fee Hike at U.S. National Parks

The Trump administration has approved a major fee hike targeting foreign visitors to America’s most iconic national parks, including Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, and the Everglades.

Beginning January 1, international travelers will pay $250 for an annual pass—more than triple the $80 paid by U.S. citizens and residents—and a new $100 per-person entrance fee will apply at 11 of the nation’s busiest parks.

The policy follows an executive order directing park officials to prioritize Americans in reservations and use additional revenue for conservation and maintenance projects, even as overall federal park funding faces proposed cuts.

With national park admissions reaching a record 331 million in 2024, the new policy could reshape travel patterns and spark ongoing debate about fairness, tourism, and the financial future of America’s public lands.
