Florida Airport to Be Renamed After Trump
The Republican-led state legislature approved a bill Thursday to redesignate Palm Beach International Airport as “President Donald J. Trump International Airport,” with Governor Ron DeSantis expected to sign it into law.
The airport sits just minutes from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach. If approved by the FAA, it will join the Kennedy Center in Washington—now the “Trump-Kennedy Center”—and the US Institute of Peace, where the State Department added Trump’s name, as institutions renamed during his presidency.
Trump has also sought to rename New York’s Penn Station and Dulles International Airport, though those efforts failed.
Meanwhile, the Treasury Department has reportedly drafted plans for a commemorative $1 coin featuring Trump’s image, despite laws against featuring living presidents on currency.
