$60 Final Tickets? FIFA’s World Cup Pricing U-Turn

Following intense criticism from fan groups like Football Supporters Europe (FSE), FIFA has announced a new “Supporter Entry Tier” of tickets priced at a flat $60 for all 104 matches of the 2026 World Cup, including the final.

However, the governing body stated these discounted tickets will make up only 10% of each national federation’s ticket allocation and are reserved for loyal fans of qualified teams.

FSE immediately criticized the move as an “appeasement tactic,” arguing it would only help a few hundred fans per match while the vast majority face “extortionate” costs, estimating a fan following their team to the final could still pay a minimum of $6,900.

The group highlighted that prices are far higher than promised in earlier bids and previous tournaments, a sentiment echoed by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who called for FIFA to ensure the event doesn’t “lose touch with genuine supporters.”
