Colbert Fans and Look-Alikes Protest to Keep Him on Air

Supporters of Stephen Colbert gathered outside the Manhattan studio of The Late Show to protest CBS and Paramount’s decision to cancel the long-running late-night program.

Dozens of fans, along with members of MoveOn, rallied with signs, music, and speeches, while hosting a Colbert look-alike contest to celebrate his 10-year tenure as host.

Protesters highlighted Colbert’s role in speaking truth to power, calling out political and corporate misdeeds, and providing an informed, humorous perspective in an era of misinformation.

Participants praised his honesty, heartfelt humor, and influence on public discourse, emphasizing that his show is one of the most trusted ways many Americans get their nightly news.

The demonstration ended with a march to Paramount’s offices, where petitions signed by more than 140,000 people were delivered, urging the network to reverse its decision and keep Colbert on the air.
