Board of Peace Meeting Underway
President Donald Trump addressed a meeting of his newly formed “Board of Peace” in Washington, focused on the future of Gaza and post-war reconstruction efforts. Outside the venue, pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered, questioning what lies ahead for Palestinians as discussions unfold.
According to the president, the plan centers on rebuilding Gaza’s infrastructure, including schools, universities, hospitals, and clearing debris. A presentation outlining a long-term vision for Gaza’s development over the next decade was expected during the meeting.
The talks also highlight divisions among Western allies. While Emmanuel Macron has expressed support for recognizing a Palestinian state, the U.S. position remains less defined. European leaders were observing rather than formally participating, underscoring diplomatic differences over the path forward.
As negotiations continue behind closed doors, key questions remain about governance, recognition, and the long-term future of Palestinians in Gaza.
