Argentina’s Giant Salami Breaks a World Record
Argentina’s city of Tandil has once again claimed the global spotlight, setting a new record for the world’s longest salami with a jaw-dropping 487.22-meter creation.
The record-breaking salami, unveiled at the annual Chacinar Festival, surpassed the city’s previous milestone of 401.73 meters.
Thousands of people attended the event, where the measurement was officially certified by a notary, reaffirming Tandil’s reputation as Argentina’s “capital of salami.”
The impressive creation weighed over 1,500 kilograms and was produced by the Cagnoli company using the traditional “Salame de Tandil” recipe — a process that blended local ingredients, artisanal skills, and family legacy.
For the people of Tandil, this event went far beyond a culinary stunt; it represented a proud continuation of generational craftsmanship and community spirit.
As Cagnoli’s president, Pablo Cagnoli, explained, the achievement stands as a tribute to both Argentine tradition and the enduring passion for quality food that unites the town’s people.
