Actress Battles AI “Minister” Using Her Face Without Consent

Albanian actress Anila Bisha is locked in a legal battle to reclaim her face from “Diella,” the world’s first AI-generated government minister.

Bisha originally agreed to lend her image and voice to a chatbot for an online government services portal, spending hours recording to make the AI responsive.

But when Prime Minister Edi Rama suddenly “promoted” the avatar to minister of public procurement, promising to make tenders “100 percent corruption-free,” Bisha was left in shock.

Her contract expired in December, yet the government continued using her likeness without consent.

Rama even joked Diella was “pregnant” and would give birth to 83 children—one for each MP.

Bisha says people who hate the prime minister now hate her, and she feels deeply hurt.

She launched a legal fight this month seeking over $1 million in damages.

The government calls the lawsuit “nonsense” but welcomes a court resolution.

Meanwhile, the agency behind Diella is embroiled in a corruption scandal, with its head under house arrest. Bisha fears for the future: “It’s getting scary.”
