A Wedding, a Grammy, and a Flag: Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl
Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime show unfolded as a fast-moving, highly theatrical tribute to Puerto Rican culture, blending music, celebrity cameos, and jaw-dropping moments into a tightly packed 13-minute performance.
The show opened in a faux sugar cane field, with imagery drawn from everyday Puerto Rican life — domino games, street vendors, shaved ice stands, and neighborhood scenes — as Bad Bunny walked through the set carrying a football.
From there, the performance moved across multiple stages: atop a pink house, on a pickup truck, and through a recreated outdoor plaza filled with dancers and musicians. A parade of surprise appearances followed, including Jessica Alba, Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Karol G, and later Ricky Martin.
Midway through the show, the spectacle took an unexpected turn when a wedding ceremony unfolded on the field. The couple was actually married during the broadcast, later confirmed by Bad Bunny’s representatives, with the artist serving as a witness and signing the marriage certificate. The scene transitioned seamlessly into a surprise appearance by Lady Gaga, who performed alongside a live salsa band before Bad Bunny rejoined the celebration.
The performance closed with Bad Bunny waving a Puerto Rican flag, naming countries across the Americas, and ending the show by spiking a football emblazoned with the message “Together We Are America.”
