The multi-billion-dollar crossing is designed to handle heavy commercial traffic and is considered critical to North American auto and manufacturing supply chains, with industry groups warning delays could have wide economic impacts. On Capitol Hill, Homeland Security and ICE leadership are set to testify before the House Oversight Committee on the administration’s expanded immigration enforcement operations, including recent large-scale actions in Minnesota, as lawmakers question arrest targets, detention capacity, and removal authority.
