Netanyahu and Trump Hold High Stakes Talks on Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with President Trump at the White House for high stakes talks centered on Iran and ongoing U.S. diplomacy with Tehran. Netanyahu urged that any future agreement go beyond nuclear limits to address Iran’s ballistic missile program and its support for militant groups including Hezbollah and Hamas.

President Trump said he believes Iran wants a deal but stressed that any agreement must prevent both nuclear weapons capability and missile expansion. Iranian officials maintain their missile program is defensive and not open to negotiation, complicating the path forward. Earlier in the day, Netanyahu met with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and joined the administration’s Board of Peace initiative on regional security. The meetings underscore close U.S. and Israel coordination, alongside the challenges of securing a broader agreement with Tehran.
