Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) warns the government shutdown has reached a breaking point: health care tax credits are expiring, and SNAP benefits are at risk. He says the crisis could be resolved “this afternoon” if leadership returned to negotiations, and accuses the administration of “weaponizing hunger” to gain political leverage.
