WH: Trump Moves to Pay TSA Workers

New details emerged from the White House briefing as the administration outlined steps to ensure Transportation Security Administration employees receive their pay during the ongoing Department of Homeland Security funding standoff.

During the briefing, Karoline Leavitt said Donald Trump signed a presidential memorandum directing the Department of Homeland Security to work with the White House budget office to use available funds tied to TSA operations.

According to Leavitt, the directive instructs Department of Homeland Security officials to coordinate with the Office of Management and Budget to provide compensation and benefits to Transportation Security Administration workers.

The administration says the goal is to ensure TSA employees receive the pay and benefits they would have earned despite the ongoing DHS funding disruption affecting the agency.

Leavitt described the move as a necessary step to maintain airport security operations while ensuring federal workers continue receiving their paychecks.
