Ukraine Sends Drone Experts to Middle East Amid Iran Threat
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine is sending military specialists to the Middle East to help partners counter Iranian drones and missiles.
In a post on the social platform X, Zelenskyy said he directed Ukraine’s foreign minister, defense minister, intelligence agencies and the National Security and Defense Council to develop options for assisting regional partners while ensuring the effort does not weaken Ukraine’s own defenses.
Zelenskyy said Iran has launched more than 800 missiles and over 1,400 attack drones in recent days, warning that the same Iranian-made “Shahed” drones used against Ukrainian cities and infrastructure are now posing broader regional and global security risks.
The Ukrainian leader added that he has consulted with partners in Europe and the United States and held talks with leaders in the Middle East, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan and Bahrain, with additional discussions planned with Kuwait and other regional governments.
