Hegseth: U.S. Firepower Over Iran and Tehran About to Surge
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the amount of American military firepower over Iran and its capital Tehran is expected to increase dramatically as the conflict intensifies.
Hegseth said the United States is deploying additional fighter squadrons, defensive systems and more frequent bomber patrols as part of a broader buildup of military capabilities in the region.
He also noted that expanded basing agreements with allies are allowing the U.S. to increase operational reach. While the United Kingdom is among the partners providing support, Hegseth said several other allied countries have also stepped forward to assist.
According to Hegseth, countries including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait have offered military cooperation, air defense support, and additional basing options.
He rejected the idea that the conflict is spiraling into chaos, arguing instead that Iran’s actions have pushed regional partners closer to the United States and strengthened military coordination among allied nations.
