Trump Mocks Biden in White House Portrait Display With Autopen Photo
In a striking move inside the White House, U.S. President Donald Trump has unveiled a new “Presidential Walk of Fame” along the colonnade by the Rose Garden, showcasing portraits of past presidents, but with one glaring exception.
Instead of a traditional black-and-white portrait of Joe Biden, Trump chose to display an image of an autopen, the mechanical device Biden used for official signatures during his presidency.
Trump has repeatedly alleged, without providing evidence, that Biden relied on the autopen to mask cognitive decline, and he doubled down on that narrative by making it the symbol of his predecessor’s legacy in the new display.
The autopen photo sits between Trump’s own portraits as the 45th and 47th president, and it will be visible to guests attending a Rose Garden dinner this week.
The move highlights Trump’s ongoing efforts to reshape the White House’s imagery and symbolism, from redecorating the Oval Office with gold accents to adding his own paintings and remaking the Rose Garden into a patio-style venue.
