From Tel Aviv to Paris: The World Responds to Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan

The announcement of a Gaza ceasefire, brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, has triggered a wave of global reaction — from cautious optimism to calls for accountability.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed it as “a big day for Israel,” while Qatar’s Foreign Ministry confirmed “agreement reached on all provisions” following mediation in Sharm el-Sheikh.

French President Emmanuel Macron described the deal as “great hope for hostages and Gaza,” adding that France will host talks in Paris to push for a political settlement rooted in a two-state solution.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen called the ceasefire “an opportunity for lasting peace,” pledging EU support for humanitarian aid and post-war reconstruction.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres also praised the agreement as a “desperately needed breakthrough,” urging all sides to commit to a permanent ceasefire and sustained humanitarian access.
