Saudi Mega Towers Set to Dethrone the Burj Khalifa
The global race for architectural supremacy is heating up as Saudi Arabia advances two massive projects designed to surpass Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.
The Jeddah Economic Tower, which has faced various delays over the last decade, is now officially back under construction and has already climbed past the 91st floor, aiming for a final height exceeding 3,280 feet.
Simultaneously, Riyadh has unveiled plans for the Rise Tower, a staggering 6,561-foot-tall “super tower” that would double the height of the Burj Khalifa and serve as the centerpiece of the “North Pole” future city development.
While the Jeddah project is currently on a rapid five-day floor construction cycle with an estimated completion date of 2028, Riyadh’s Rise Tower remains in the design phase, promising 678 floors of luxury hotels and observation decks.
These developments signal a major shift in the Middle East’s skyline, challenging Dubai’s long-standing record for the tallest man-made structure.
