Over 200 Drones Struck Kurdistan’s Erbil During Iran War
Since the US-Israeli war on Iran began, more than 200 drones have been launched at Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
Iranian forces and pro-Iran militia groups inside Iraq have repeatedly targeted the city.
Most drones are intercepted by American air defenses, but attacks continue daily. On Tuesday and into Wednesday, barrages crashed on the outskirts after being shot down.
One drone struck the Emirati Consulate General in Erbil, prompting the Kurdistan Regional Government to call on Baghdad to stop “outlaw extremist groups” from launching attacks.
Groups under the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella of pro-Iran factions, have claimed responsibility for many of the strikes.
Governor Omed Khoshnaw says authorities are doing everything to protect citizens, but the danger is constant.
