Mexican Cartel Boss Captured in Major Operation

Mexican special forces, bolstered by U.S. intelligence and aerial surveillance, successfully captured Audias Flores, also known as “El Jardinero,” in a high-stakes operation in the state of Nayarit.

Flores was a top commander for the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) and was widely considered the successor to the cartel’s founder, “El Mencho,” who was killed in February.

Despite being protected by over 60 gunmen and a fleet of 30 trucks, Flores was apprehended without a single shot being fired after troops discovered him hiding in a drainage ditch.

The operation involved over 500 personnel and six helicopters, following 19 months of tracking.

This arrest represents a major victory for Mexican Security Minister Omar Garcia Harfuch and the Trump administration, as Flores is wanted in the U.S. for large-scale narcotics trafficking, specifically fentanyl, which has devastated communities across the United States.
