Massive Winter Storm Grips Much of the United States

Migi Fabara reports a massive winter storm continues to grip much of the United States, stretching from Texas to New England and bringing snow, ice, and dangerous cold. In Washington, D.C., snow and ice are creating hazardous travel conditions across the region. The storm has escalated into a national emergency in parts of the country, with emergency declarations issued in multiple states as catastrophic ice causes widespread power outages, particularly across the South, where hundreds of thousands could be without electricity for days. Travel disruptions continue nationwide, with more than 13,000 flights canceled and major highways shut down. Behind the storm, record breaking cold is settling in, with more than half the country expected to experience subzero wind chills in the days ahead, slowing recovery efforts.
