Israelis Turn to App to Shower Safely During Attacks
In Israel, even a simple shower now comes with a question: is it safe? A new app called “Can I Shower” has been developed to help citizens find the safest time to bathe without the fear of rushing to a bomb shelter mid-rinse.
The app analyzes real-time rocket attack patterns and historical data to calculate risk windows. Based on current information, 5:30 am is the recommended time—when attacks are least likely.
The goal is to give people a sense of normalcy in the middle of war. Running to a shelter dripping wet isn’t just inconvenient—it’s dangerous.
Water makes it hard to hear alarms, and soap makes everything slippery. The app is one of several Israelis use to digitize panic.
Others include the army’s Home Front Command app, a Bomb Shelter Locator, and Hooked, a bomb-shelter icebreaker. Social media users are calling it brilliant. “It may sound funny, but it’s absolutely useful,” one wrote.
