Israel–Lebanon Talks in Washington
Negotiations between Israel and Lebanon are expected to take place at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, according to multiple diplomatic reports, as both countries formally signal readiness to participate in talks as soon as possible.
Lebanon’s delegation is expected to include Ambassador to Washington Nada Hamadeh Mouawad, alongside former ambassador Simon Karam. Israel’s delegation will be led by Ambassador to Washington Yechiel Leiter, representing the Israeli government in the negotiations.
The United States will serve as mediator, with Michel Issa overseeing the American role in the discussions as Washington works to facilitate dialogue between the two sides.
Officials say the talks are aimed at addressing security concerns along the Israel–Lebanon border and reducing the risk of wider regional escalation as diplomatic pressure intensifies.
