How Iran Forces Detainees into Pro-Government Rallies

New reports from “Independent Persian” have exposed a deceptive tactic used by the Iranian regime to manufacture an image of national unity amidst ongoing civil unrest.

Security and judicial forces are allegedly pressuring young women detained during the December 2025 protests to participate in pro-government nightly gatherings.

These women are presented with a harrowing choice: take part in these staged events or face the immediate enforcement of lengthy prison sentences and threats against their families. In a strategic move to mislead international observers, the regime has specifically instructed these women to appear without hijabs, aiming to create a false narrative that even secular and anti-regime protesters have pivoted to support the government during current geopolitical tensions.

These forced performances, directed by investigators who dictate everything from positioning to speech, severely undermine the authenticity of the “loyalist” images currently being broadcast on Iranian state media.
