Inside Trump’s Plan for an ‘Arc de Trump’ in Washington

Washington, D.C., could soon have a new landmark — and it’s straight from Donald Trump’s vision. The U.S. President plans to build the “Arc de Trump,” a triumphal arch inspired by Paris’s Arc de Triomphe, to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary in 2026.

The structure would stand across from the Lincoln Memorial, at the entrance to the capital from Arlington National Cemetery — a location Trump has described as symbolically “empty” and ready for something monumental.

Architect Nicolas Leo Charbonneau designed the proposed arch, with renderings reportedly reviewed inside the Oval Office. Three versions have been pitched — small, medium, and large — with Trump favoring the grandest model. Funding may come from the remaining funds in his $250 million White House ballroom project.

The arch joins other redesigns from Trump’s second term: a gold-trimmed Oval Office, marble floors, and a “Presidential Walk of Fame” along the West Wing colonnade.
