Inside the Largest Ever Queen Elizabeth II Fashion Exhibit
To mark the centenary of her birth, Buckingham Palace has opened “Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style,” the most comprehensive exhibition of the late monarch’s wardrobe ever staged.
Located at The King’s Gallery, the collection boasts approximately 200 items spanning ten decades, including iconic historical pieces like her Norman Hartnell-designed wedding and coronation dresses. Curated by Caroline de Guitaut, the exhibit showcases the Queen’s “soft power” through fashion, revealing how she championed the British couture industry from the 1940s onward.
Visitors can view a diverse range of attire—from high-fashion evening gowns to her signature Balmoral tartans and off-duty riding gear—alongside never-before-seen design sketches and personal correspondence.
This exhibition offers an intimate look at the craftsmanship and thoughtful style choices that defined the image of the world’s most famous woman.
