Gabbard: Iran Regime Intact but Severely Degraded
U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said the Iran regime remains intact but has been significantly weakened by recent military strikes.
According to the intelligence community’s assessment, Iran’s leadership structure is still in place, but its military capabilities have been heavily degraded following sustained attacks on key infrastructure and command systems.
Gabbard said Iran’s conventional ability to project military power has been largely destroyed, leaving the regime with limited operational options.
She also noted that Iran’s overall strategic position in the region has been significantly weakened, even as the government continues to function.
Despite these setbacks, intelligence officials warn that if the regime survives, it may attempt to rebuild its military capabilities over time.
