Gabbard: Iran Faces Rising Internal Tensions, Long Rebuild Ahead

U.S. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard warned that even if the regime in Iran remains intact, internal pressures are expected to grow as the country’s economic situation worsens.

According to the intelligence community’s assessment, rising economic strain is likely to increase internal tensions within Iran, potentially challenging the regime’s stability over time.

Despite significant military degradation, Iran and its regional proxies continue to carry out attacks against United States and allied interests across the Middle East.

Gabbard also warned that if the current regime survives, it is expected to begin a years-long effort to rebuild its military capabilities, including missile systems and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

While Iran’s conventional power has been weakened, intelligence officials emphasize that the long-term threat could re-emerge if reconstruction efforts succeed.
