Who Is Dina Powell McCormick, Meta’s New President?

Meta has named Dina Powell McCormick as its new president and vice chair, placing a former White House official and longtime Wall Street executive at the top of one of the world’s most powerful tech companies.

Powell McCormick previously served as a deputy national security adviser to President Donald Trump, where she focused heavily on Middle East policy, including overseeing major US-Saudi relations during his first term.

She also held senior roles in the George W. Bush administration, making her one of the highest-ranking Arab American officials at the time.

After leaving government, Powell McCormick spent 16 years at Goldman Sachs, rising quickly to partner and leading major initiatives such as the firm’s 10,000 Women and 10,000 Small Businesses programs.

Her mix of political influence and corporate leadership made her one of the most connected figures moving between Washington and Wall Street.

Her appointment comes as Meta continues to reshape its leadership in 2026. She is the second former Trump official to join the company’s top ranks this year, following the hiring of C.J. Mahoney as chief legal officer.

Powell McCormick is also married to Pennsylvania Senator Dave McCormick, keeping her closely tied to US politics even as she steps into one of Silicon Valley’s most powerful boardrooms.
