Deer Triggers Bizarre Bank Robbery Call

Police in Suffolk County, New York, responded to a bank burglar alarm on Sunday, January 18th, only to discover the “unexpected intruder” was a deer that had crashed through a ground-floor window.

Body camera footage released by the police department shows officers entering the bank and carefully working to subdue the panicked buck as it resisted their efforts, running through the lobby.

After a tense struggle, the officers successfully lassoed the deer’s antlers with a rope, allowing them to safely control the animal and guide it back toward the broken window it had entered.

The dramatic rescue ended with the buck being safely freed back to the outdoors, with the police department later sharing details of the unusual incident on social media, turning a routine call into a memorable wildlife intervention.
