Ben Stiller Post After Washington Shooting Sparks Backlash

Actor and director Ben Stiller has found himself at the center of a social media firestorm following a misunderstood post on X.

A lifelong New York Knicks superfan, Stiller had been live-tweeting his support for the team during their game against the Atlanta Hawks. After the Knicks secured a 114-98 victory, he posted “Got it done,” which appeared just twenty minutes after a shooting incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Because President Donald Trump and other high-profile guests had just been evacuated from the scene, many political supporters and Republican lawmakers interpreted Stiller’s sports-related celebration as a cryptic and malicious reaction to the violence.
