Artemis II Crew Speaks Ahead of Historic Moon Mission

The crew of Artemis II held a Q&A session from quarantine on March 29, offering new insight into final preparations ahead of their scheduled April 1 launch.

Astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen discussed key milestones, including rocket inspections and readiness checks, as NASA moves closer to liftoff.

The 10-day mission will send the crew on a journey around the Moon and back, marking the first crewed lunar mission in more than 50 years. A central objective is to validate the Orion capsule’s life-support systems, a critical step for future deep space exploration.

Crew members also expressed hope that Artemis II will help make the Moon more accessible, framing it as a destination not just for astronauts, but for future generations.

The mission is seen as a major milestone in NASA’s broader Artemis program, paving the way for eventual lunar landings and long-term human presence beyond Earth.
