Air Force One Scraps Iconic Kennedy-era Paint Scheme
The iconic blue-and-white color scheme of Air Force One, a symbol of American presidential power since the Kennedy era, is being retired.
The U.S. Air Force has announced a dramatic new paint scheme for the executive fleet, replacing the historic pattern with a design featuring red, white, gold, and dark blue.
The new livery restores elements from a previous proposal by President Donald Trump, which was canceled in 2022 during the Biden administration due to technical and cost concerns.
The updated design is currently displayed as a miniature model on a table in the White House, signaling a major visual shift for the aircraft that has transported U.S. presidents for decades.
The change marks the end of an era for the plane’s distinctive look, first introduced by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in 1962.
