14-year-old Israeli boy indicted for spying for Iran

Israeli prosecutors have filed charges against a 14-year-old boy accused of conducting espionage on behalf of Iranian intelligence. The investigation revealed that the teenager established contact with an Iranian agent via a job offer in April 2025, eventually receiving payments exceeding $1,170 in cryptocurrency across four digital wallets. His assigned tasks involved high-stakes reconnaissance, including filming the Kirya military headquarters in Tel Aviv and sensitive areas near Ichilov Hospital and Ramat Gan. Beyond surveillance, the minor was instructed to vandalize property with pro-regime slogans and was even directed to spy on the Israeli Foreign Minister with the intent to vandalize his home. The case reached a critical point when the boy was tasked with renting an apartment near Israeli army headquarters to facilitate further operations, a mission he was unable to complete before his arrest. This case underscores a growing trend of foreign intelligence services utilizing digital platforms to recruit and exploit minors for clandestine operations.
